About Me

My goal is to channel the collective creativity. My passion is to communicate, as better understanding will lead to better things for the world. A firm believer that visual storytelling is the most effective way to get a message across and solve communication problems, I strive to hone my creative skills in an energetic environment. For over 15 years I have been illustrating, designing, writing, translating, making music and working on films. I can never seem so stick to just one thing. I was born in Mexico City in 1982, and as soon as I could pick up a pencil, I started drawing. That was around the time I fell in love with comic books, cartoons, and video games. I moved around a lot during my childhood, and lived in different cities in Mexico and the US, which led me to growing up bicultural. I started a punk band at 15, and when I finished high school I was determined to become a film director. So I studied film for a while in Los Angeles. I went back to Mexico City and got a BA in Graphic Design (Universidad del Valle de Mexico). Since then I have done editorial illustration for books published all over the world, drawn storyboards for award-winning films, worked on branding, advertising and video for clients like Abbott, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, produced a documentary about music in Mexico City prisons, and translated (english-spanish, spanish-english) a bunch of books for Amazon. My first graphic novel will be published in 2017. I now live in Atlanta with my wife and my dog.
